Announcement - FFA Novice Parliamentary Procedure State Contest

Announcement!

Hello everyone,

Today I bring you a new announcement. As you might know, I am still in Agriculture at the Harrington high school. Well, that also means I am still part of the FFA. And a while back, me and

three other students in 8th grade did a contest for the FFA called Novice Parliamentary Procedure for Districts. Well, we got third place which meant we would be going to state as long as we have a complete team of 6 members. Now we have six members that will be competing in the FFA Parliamentary Procedure State Contest in Pullman, Washington at WSU. I think this will be a very fun, challenging competition. And another good part is that we are leaving 3:30 on Thursday, the 14th of this month and won't be back until around noon on Sunday, the 17th. Why are we there so long? Well, along with the Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest, other Harrington kids have contests they are doing as well for the FFA. Plus we are staying to go to all the workshops and events planned. I just thought I would mention this now, considering we will be leaving in exactly 7 days. Okay, if you want to be technical, it will be 7 days exactly at 3:30 pm today. Just if you want to be technical.

Another reason I shared this is because I will not be posting those days because I won't have internet. So I will try to get the next Portal Into the Past done Wednesday as well as a Minecraft Monday. And when I come back, I will make a post here related to our trip. Wish us good luck!

Announcement - At last I have...

Announcement:

Hello everyone,

Today I bring you a sort of quick but very important announcement. Not just any announcement but one that I treat as a surprise for anyone reading this and an accomplishment on my end. As you might have noticed by the title, "At last I have..." done something. Here is what the "something" is:

So, you all know about The Hero's Prophecy Series I am writing, right? Well, as you might also know, I have been working on a website for the series. Well... let's just say I am done. Finally. Done. Okay, take that back, I am not 100% done, yet. I still have to finish a minor quiz, and draw a picture for the ten year old THP hero, Justin. After that, I will have to add that picture then my website will be done. But hey, let's say it is 98% done. Here is the link to the The Hero's Prophecy Series Website which I strongly recommend checking out: http://ashleeg01.wix.com/thpworld

The THP (The Hero's Prophecy) website has quizzes on what character you are, what role in the Prophecy you would have, and other fun quizzes plus information and background stories on each Hero and Creature of Darkness. I also have on there a smaller blog separate to this one where I post things related only to the THP series. On the website, there is a Hero Interview like what I have done here on the blog, FAQ about the website, and I also plan to open up a shop through the website once the series is fully published.

Again, I think you should check out the website and maybe share it with some other people. I put a lot of work into writing everything. I am working on converting all the pictures to ones I draw, but until then, not all of the pictures I made. It would be nice if you left a comment either on this post or on the website (by using "Contact me") to let me know what you think of the website and what I could improve. Thanks for reading this, and keep an eye out for any new posts coming up!

Note: This was, what I would consider the "Surprise Post" for now, but I might come up with something even cooler within the next few days. Well, probably not Saturday-Sunday because I am pretty busy then with Geocaching and we often go to Spokane to shop then which is about 1 and a half hours away. But still keep an eye out for posts those days, just in case.

Announcement - Hit with the Flu

Hello everyone,

I know the one and only question you are probably asking is: Where. Have. You. Been?! Let me answer that right now. The title of this post sort of gives it away, I hope. A few hours after noon on Tuesday I got really sick and it turns out I had the flu. I spent the rest of Tuesday and all of Wednesday (basically 2 full days) where I could not even sit up. Luckily, this morning when I woke up, I felt fine. Just hungry and sore.

About being sore... well, let's just say all of yesterday I had been on the couch with my neck leaning
back on the arm of the couch. Bad idea. Along with my back already being sore, I can barely move my neck right now because of how sore it is. So I have not had a very good past 2 days.

I am sorry for not posting, and I really wanted to get the Portal into the Past done yesterday, but like I said, I had the flu. So I am going to get the research done and hopefully have the Portal into the Past posted sometime tomorrow. Hopefully I am not hit with the flu again anytime soon, but who knows? I will get to work on the research needed for the Portal into the Past which will hopefully be posted tomorrow. Thanks for reading this quick announcement!

And just as a quick note: No matter how much you like something, doing it for two days will tire you out so much you will probably fall asleep. Yes, that is what happened to me. I love watching Youtube videos from BajanCanadian, JeromASF, Lachlan, PrestonPlayz, Mr.Woofless, and Vikkstar123, as well as some other Minecraft Youtubers. So I spent all of Wednesday (because Tuesday I was practically sleeping the whole time) watching those Youtubers on the Kindle. And even though Youtube is one of my favorite things to do, I fell asleep I was so bored. So my recommendation: when you are sick, try doing something that you don't often do so you will not get bored of that thing.

Announcement - Minecraft Monday for the 20th

 Announcement!

Hello everyone,

As you probably know, tomorrow is the first Minecraft Monday since I have restarted my blog. I know you must be wondering, what will this Minecraft Monday be about? Well, I have a cool surprise for tomorrow. Have you ever played Skyblock before? Well, since when I downloaded the Skyblock map and it was glitching really badly (I kept on suffocating in dirt), I built my own map in Single Player. It started out as the standard-sized Skyblock map with a tree, an L-shaped land area, and a chest with a lava bucket and a block of ice. Well, I managed to expand that into something pretty cool. I will post a little bit on the island, all the places, interesting and/or funny things that happened, and some screenshots. I would like to do a video, but I don't have a video camera yet. So be prepared for tomorrow's Minecraft Monday!

Where have I been all this time? The Past Months and Future Plans (Part 2)

Part 2 -

Hello everyone,

Let me continue on from my last, very long post. What are my plans now that I am homeschooled? Well, I will continue on with Minecraft Monday starting on the 20th of this month because I am even more

Minecraft Monday will be started again on the 20th of this month

into Minecraft than when I first started this blog. I now do mods, new servers, new hardcore and survival worlds, new builds, and all sorts of cool stuff. For Minecraft Monday, I plan to do a video with a post most of the time. Along with that, I think I will be starting up an actual YouTube channel directly related to Minecraft. But I cannot do that until I get a video camera, which should be soon. So until then, Minecraft Monday will be a post with plenty of pictures.

Along with that, I plan to do "Into the Portal of the Past to (location here)". My family and I go Geocaching every weekend. We go to some really cool, historic locations in Lincoln County and nearby areas. So what I am going to do is for Monday and Tuesday I will research on my favorite location we visited that weekend. Then I will find everything I can on that area and add that to the pictures I would have taken over the weekend. Then, on Wednesday, I will combine all the found information, some cool

One of our Geocaching trips nearby

things about the Geocache area, and pictures to create a "Into the Portal of the Past to (location here)" post. These should typically be on Wednesdays, unless research takes longer than planned.

Then for Tuesdays and Thursdays, I will have free-post days where I will post whatever I think is good for that time. And if I have enough time, I will post on the weekends and Friday as well. But those are the days my family are typically busy or Geocaching.

Also, since the time has passed, I have a few new things to share:
First of all, I am working on Book 2 to the Hero's Prophecy Series. I don't know when it will be done, but I just started it. I will keep you all updated on how that is going.
Secondly, I am working on a website that goes with the series. It is going to have some really cool information on the series, Heroes, Enemies, a shop, a blog related only to the series, and even some personality quizzes like: "What THP Character are you?". I will share the link on here once the website is done. I still have to add more pictures and finish the "About the Author" page. Also, the shop won't be up for a while since the series is not done. But it will include all sorts of cool stuff.

So, now I have made by return from Someplace, and I plan to stick around. My next post probably will not be until Monday, so be prepared! I know this post was long, and I would be pretty shocked if you read it all, but I doubt I even said everything I had planned. But I guess that is what happens when you quit blogging for what? Over 7 months? Well, I guess I deserve that. But I am back, either way. And I have some really cool things planned, so stick around.

Thanks for reading both Part 1 and 2, if you did!

Where have I been all this time? The Past Months and Future Plans (Part 1)

 Part 1 -

Hello everyone,

I am sorry for not posting for so long. But I have some reasons which this post will talk about. To get started, let's just say I have quiet an... adventure since being gone. Here is how:

A picture that describes my series

First off, you might remember I was writing a series called The Hero's Prophecy. Well, I have completely wrote and edited Book 1. Now all I have to do is finish some touch-ups and have someone else edit it for me. The accomplishment of Book 1 has been really important to me and it has taken a lot of hard time. Not to mention I now have a lot of people wanting to read it and most of those people don't even know what the book is about!

But I know what you all must be wondering, if you read my blog in the past. That question is probably: Where have you been?!" Well, that is a long story, but it is a story that must be answered. Now, let me get started:
"

Since I last posted, which was last year in October, I have moved two times. I went from Airway Heights to Spokane, and then to Harrington, WA which is where I currently live. But no worries, we won't be moving anytime soon since my family bought a house here in Harrington.

Yes, you might have noticed I slowly started to fade away in posting. Then when I was completely gone. That was mainly due to me just working so hard and long that my interest in blogging faded. So now I will make it my goal not to post multiple times a day every day like last time. It will be more balanced instead.

Me and Katie at a Geocache location near Harrington

After I "faded away" I moved to Spokane. I was still being homeschooled in Spokane but we only lived there a short time. Just a month or two later we moved to Harrington, which is where I live now. Harrington is an extremely small - but great - town of about 400 people. It is located in Washington, and is about an hour and half away from Spokane if I remember correctly.

When I got to Harrington, Katie and I decided to go to school. My class then was only 7 kids. Soon into 2015, my class got a few other kids. Currently, it is up to 10 kids, not counting me. I had considered restarting my blog again, but being in school would not work. For one, I was not an unschooler anymore, so it does not match with my blog. Secondly, I just did not have enough time. With 2 or more hours of homework, being in tennis (but only for a short time due to the lack of time to study for tests and work on homework), FFA, and just school in general took up all my day. I would be lucky to get an hour of free time if you add on chores and helping around the house.

Then I discovered that I wanted to do a Computer Science career in the future and go to Evergreen State College in Olympia. But with me being in school, I had no time to focus on Computer Science. Plus, considering how Evergreen teaches, unschooling is a lot like it.

That is why I left Harrington High school and I am now unschooled. In fact, I officially left today. But, as I will explain in the last paragraph, I will be taking an Agriculture class at Harrington for the rest of 8th grade. Plus I plan to take 1 to 2 classes each year throughout high school which will probably include more Agriculture classes, Spanish, and P.E.

So why do I keep on saying both homeschooling and unschooling? Which am I doing now? Well, I call it homeschooling to most people because that is a more common term used. But technically, it is called unschooling. I will be doing Teaching Textbooks for math, and we are still planning everything else.

For the rest of 8th grade, I will be doing Agriculture at Harrington High school, 1-3 art projects depending on how big they are, and a weekly blog post on a Geocaching location we go to by researching the area in-depth and then writing about it which would count for history. I will also be doing an online Minecraft class related to Scientists and what they did. Here is the link: Minecraft Homeschool. Plus I will be taking the Teaching Textbooks Algebra II placement test and use that as a study guide. Once I can pass the Algebra II placement test, then I will get the Teaching Textbooks Algebra II and use that for 9th grade. Plus I can start early on it, which is always nice.

To be Continued!

Announcement - The Next Minecraft Monday

Announcement!

I am here today to give an announcement on the next Minecraft Monday. As you might already know, on every Monday I create a post related to Minecraft. This week's Minecraft Monday post was an interview with the Hero's Prophecy characters. Last week's Monday I showed my hardcore single player survival world. The week before that I talked about the Minecraft Server, UCC. And the week before that... well, there was no such thing as Minecraft Monday. Now that Monday is coming closer by the second, I am here to make an announcement on what the next Minecraft Monday will be about.

Yesterday I created a creative world in Single Player because I often times play late at night so no one is ever online. Plus I don't have any good creative worlds in Single Player (most of them are Katie's). I don't want to go into too much detail since that is for Minecraft Monday, but I will say I built this very strange house in 1.8 that is a mix of Dessert and Ocean style. Strange right? Well, you will have to wait until Monday to find out for sure!

Announcement - Weekly World Facts

Announcement!

Before I write today's actual post, I would like to give a quick announcement. Recently, I have been learning geography, so I thought I should make a weekly World Facts. Geography is basically everything related to the world, so World Facts would be about... about anything that has a connection to the world. I know it sounds like I just repeated myself in one sentence but that is what geography is, so I hope you all will enjoy the Weekly World Facts. I still have not decided what day it will be on, so I will do it for today's post and then next week I will probably do it on Wednesday. Yes... Wednesday's Weekly World Facts - perfect! Or just WWW Facts, but that makes it sound like www.(then something like blogger.com). Anyways, call it what you want but the first one will be today. Then it will officially be set for Wednesdays, so be ready!

Announcement - Next Week's Minecraft Monday

Announcement!

I am making a quick return to tell you what next week's Minecraft Monday will be about. If you read my last post - the second Minecraft Monday one - you might remember me saying this, "Be prepared for next week's Minecraft Monday because I think I might introduce... something or another." Well, I think I have decided what that "Something or another" will be. Read on to figure out what it is.

Well, I was listening to Lindsey Stirling while working on the Hero's Prophecy when Katie started interviewing the characters (I was the characters) in the Hero's Prophecy series. Then it hit me afterwards - why not do a Hero's Prophecy Character Interview for next week's Minecraft Monday? Well, it sounded like a perfect idea. I will interview each character and give them two or three questions (the same questions for everyone). This will allow you to know the characters a little better. Also, you might be wondering, What does the Hero's Prophecy have to do with Minecraft Monday? Well, that is really easy to answer - the Hero's Prophecy takes place in Minecraft. You can read my past posts to know a little more on it. Well, I'll be signing off here but be ready for my next post.

Announcement: Updating Posts

Announcement!

I return only for a few minutes so I can write this announcement. For the next day or two I will be editing my posts from the newest to oldest and I will add some new pictures. I will still post while editing, but I wanted to get this done as well. I'll be signing off here now, I just wanted to let you all know so keep an eye out for the updated posts.

Announcement - Minecraft Mondays

 Announcement!

I have decided to make one or more posts every Monday related to Minecraft. I will post videos, pictures, write about the servers I play, what I am creating, Minecraft News, new updates, how to guides, and anything else related to Minecraft. For those who are wondering, the Hero's Prophecy series and my Minecraft Hoodie designs do not count for Minecraft Monday. The first Minecraft Monday will be tomorrow on the 8th so be prepared!
