A Day in the Life of Me - Friday

Yesterday I was keeping track of what I did all day so I could show you right now. But there is one thing you should know first, each day for me is somewhat different from the last but this will give you a basic idea. I will add some notes afterwards on things that I normally don't do on Fridays. If you see * (or **, ***) that means I have a note at the bottom of the page for that topic.

I woke up at about 10 am for good after first waking up at about 7:15. Why did I get up so late? Well, my dad works a night shift and so we normally go to bed about when he gets home. But this week he had a strange work shift so we went to bed a little earlier. Do I normally get up at 10? Depends. This morning I got up at about 9:30 and yet I did not go to bed until 2:30 am. Okay, enough on when I go to bed, it is time to explain what I did next.

After getting up, I got ready and started blogging at about 10:15 while listening to Lindsey Stirling on Amazon Prime. I did not get much done because we had an Unschoolers meet-up at a nearby park so I had to stop blogging and go eat. After having cereal* at 11 I started to get ready to leave (at 11:03).

By 11:08 I am back on the computer blogging to finish up the post I was creating but I am cut short twenty minutes later (11:28) to help the little kids. I have nothing wrong with helping them, but let me just say something - They are not really "morning kids" so there was a lot of crying.

After most of us are ready and in the car at noon, we just sit there waiting for my mom and baby sister to come out. Luckily for me I had my MP3 player, but unluckily for me I had no Lindsey Stirling and I was in the mood for that type of music. By 12:13 we are finally ready to go. The meet-up would be at 1 pm, but believe it or not it nearly took an hour to make two quick stops and get to a park just 2-5 miles away. Anyways, we finally got there about 10 minutes before 1pm, and we stayed for about 2 hours. The meet-up was mostly for teens and their parents so the younger kids (12 and under) went to play on the toys and splash pad.

By 3 pm we were home and I made lunch  - which was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches - for everyone and then by 3:30 I was upstairs doing my math. What is my math? Well, I recently just started Life of Fred Fractions which is basically a math series where this five (and a half) year old boy is teaching at a University. He teaches math a through stories instead of by just questions. The series goes all the way through college math and starts at an elementary level (Katie will probably do it soon). I forgot to mention, I was once again listening to Lindsey Stirling but this time while I was doing math. Once I was done with two chapters I still could not leave the room until I finished one song... then the next. Finally I just shut down my browser before the next song could start up.

After my math was done I went downstairs to do my chores and I talked to my mom for a little bit (my dad was already at work). Once my chores were done I went outside with all my siblings besides Abigail and watered the yard while they played with a hose. It turned out we forgot to turn off the water when going in... which led to the result of flooding the yard after being on for 5 and a half hours. At 7:30 we all went in to eat dinner which was fish sticks for Juliet and Caleb and a cheesy noodle with chicken bits, carrots, and broccoli for Katie and I.

After dinner I went upstairs to start playing Wizard101 for the first time**. My goal was only to play 1 hour of it, but I ended up doing 2 hours and 10 minutes over the whole night... it is a very good game, but nothing can ever beat Minecraft. Also, I cannot remember if it was before or after I started playing, but I did talk to my mom for nearly 2 hours on careers and my upcoming online classes*** which then led to enrolling in a Web Design online class put on by the library which starts the 15th I think.

After that, I went upstairs again and began to research Minecraft Servers for teens but with no result. My goal that night was to research how to do HTML coding, but I sort of got distracted... that is why I blogging at 12:20 am. Then I played Wizard101 again until bed. It was bedtime at 2:30 am, and that is how my day ended up going. Notes are below for the things I marked with * and for anything else I would like to add.

Notes: I normally don't have cereal in the morning. What I like eating is oatmeal with soy or almond milk and fruit (my favorites are mashed bananas, grapes, or blueberries) all mixed in. The thing is, we had oatmeal and milk but there was no fruit left. The day before we had no fruit either so I tried eating it with just the vanilla-flavored soy or almond milk but with a very bad result. Because of that, I just had cereal the next day. Today we will be going shopping so I will not be stuck eating cereal again tomorrow.

Why did I decide to start playing Wizard101 yesterday? Well... Katie had created a username on there a few days back saying, "It is a learning game! I have to read and do math!" so I was thinking, Does not sound that good... I am really into learning but learning games with names like Wizard101? Sounded way too much like an addition, subtraction math game. But then I watched Katie play it because she wanted me to see. Was it a learning game? Not like "Answer 3 + 3 to cast this spell" type of thing. It actually looked really cool so I ended up making my own username and that is how I ended up playing for 2 hours and 10 minutes that one night (without ever touching MC...). No worries though! Today I will play Minecraft instead because I really need to finish tunneling (connecting houses) in my town. No worries on that either! I am the mayor of the town, and I only tunnel if I get permission from the person I want to tunnel to. I think I will make a video showing my tunnels and the town but not right now because my camera is dead.

Now before I finish up here, let me say something about the online classes. Since about last year I have been doing online collage classes on places like Coursera and the classes through my library. I will share more on this in a future post but at least you now know where I do my classes at.

Like I said in the first paragraph, every day is different, but that is just one day in my life. I will be doing this once a month on different days so be ready!

  1. What a detailed day! I should have known you would be super detailed. You are very detail oriented. I like it though and it really explains what a day looks like. Maybe you should do a random day maybe once a month since things are always changing with you.
