The Star Catchers Series - An Introduction

Hello, today I am here to show you the other series I am working on - the Star Catchers Series. I don't know how many books it will be, but probably around five. Since I have been putting all of my writing time into the Hero's Prophecy series recently, I have not worked on the Star Catchers in a while. If you read on I will explain what exactly this series is about with a occasional pictures.

A house like Isabelle's home
This series would fall under the Fantasy/Adventure category like most of my books. It is about a nearly thirteen year-old girl named Isabelle who discovers she has an extraordinary power. No, she can't fly, turn invisible, or read minds like how you might imagine a super power. Isabelle's power comes from her extremely strong emotions. Isabelle's parents are pretty rich compared to most people, she has no siblings, her two best friends are poor, she does not like how people rank her higher than most, and she lives in Albany, New York. Her powers show one day when she is walking to school with one of her friends, Jonah, after his school bus broke down. Without warning, they are attacked by crows, which, without giving away too much information, leads to Isabelle discovering her powers and a lot of kids being locked out of school.

Illimani in her Owl Form
Later on in the book, Isabelle finds a talking barn owl named Illimani that can transform into a human. Isabelle soon learns that she is in grave danger because an evil king, Telmor, wants powers her and other kids possess to free a very ancient, evil, and powerful ghost named Akalia. If someone, like Isabelle for instance, was to lose their power, they would become so weak they would probably die soon afterwards. To help save Isabelle, Illimani and some other Owlins (Owlins are a magical form of owls that work for the good king, Randal) bring her to Randal's base which is disguised as a school. In a way, it sort of is a school because the Owlins and kids train there.

Another Owlin named Zira
I really don't want to give away too much yet, but let me say this - Isabelle is in danger and so are other kids including her biggest enemy, and if Telmor is not stopped, then the end of the world will basically come. Every kid who loses their power makes Telmor stronger and stronger, which also means Akalia will soon be freed. Throughout the books, Isabelle, the Owlins, king Randal, and the other kids will have to make some dangerous, hard, or painful choices to make sure Akalia is not freed. Note, long before Isabelle was born, the Wizardly Owlins predicted the future and gave the kids with powers the name Star Catchers. In the series, I will explain why they got this name.

I sort of made some of the names hard to pronounce, or I might pronounce them differently, so here is how to say them: Randal = Ran-doll, Illimani = Ill-i-mon-ee, Telmor = Tell-more, and Akalia = A-call-ee-a. Hopefully none of this was too confusing, I am not really good when it comes to explaining things. Well, I will be signing off here, but I will make another post tomorrow as usual. Also, on the side panel I have a Poll under the About My Blog if you would like to do it.
