Weekly World Facts - Singapore

Weekly World Facts

Singapore... See how big it is?
I am back again - a little later than hoped - to give you the Weekly World Facts. Normally it will be on Wednesdays, but I really wanted to post this today. One might ask, What is in this Weekly World Facts thing? Well, the answer to that is really simple. In the announcement I (sort of) explained what this would be about. Thanks to the fact that I tend to talk a lot, even when writing, the announcement was probably too confusing. Well, I might as well tell you again. The Weekly World Facts will be facts about things related to the world such as: facts about states, places or people; weather in certain places; and plenty of other things. You might say, Well, this seems a little boring. Who wants to learn facts about states? Again, I am going to give you the answer - if you are reading this post right now, then you obviously want to know these things. Or maybe you just wanted to see what this Weekly World Facts thing is all about. If you don't like the topic, then you don't have to read this post, but I will try to make it more interesting than it sounds (Geography really is interesting!). So if you want to see the actual Weekly World Facts, read on and enjoy! Note: I will not go Fact #1 (basic fact), Fact #2(another basic fact), so on. This will be a very interesting post with plenty of pictures all related to Singapore. My Weekly posts (Minecraft Monday and this one) are always interesting.

So, based off the title you might already know this post will be about Singapore. Last night me and my mom were researching Singapore because I wanted to know what place was the safest place with the best weather (70-90 degrees). Well, Singapore showed up as one of the best places. Here are some quick facts on why:
  • The weather ranges from 75 to 90 degrees year around
  • There are not many bugs in the cities of Singapore
  • The internet is way faster than US internet
  • Singapore has a lot of different type of trees
  • Very low crime
  • And they speak four main languages so you don't have to learn Mandarin right away
This list could go on much longer, but those are the main things I could remember about Singapore from last night. Now, there are two things that are not so good about Singapore listed below:
Now that is a big Ferris Wheel! - This is in Singapore
  • Singapore is big - really big - and I am not a huge fan of huge cities
  • And then there is the cost to live there... let's just say it is pretty expensive
An interesting list, right? Well, I can live with a place as big as Singapore because of all the good things it has. And there are going to be other downfalls, but those are the two I learned about last night. While Singapore is expensive, it is a really nice place to live. Africa is nice but they have a lot of wars and the weather might be just a little too hot for me. Plus the bugs... maybe I would visit one day, but I don't think I would ever live in Africa. Australia is cool too, but with the ozone hole right above them, the skin cancer rate is very, very high. Not to mention all the poisonous bugs (have I mentioned I don't like bugs?). And with the fact that Singapore's weather is perfect? Great! Their "seasons" go like this: hot, hotter, wet, wetter. And with such high internet speeds I would not have to worry about lag and stuff. And then, like I already listed, Singapore has low crime, lots of trees, and they have four main languages which includes English. All that compared to two downfalls? Hmm... something to look into more I guess. Well, I'll be signing off now, hopefully you enjoyed this post about Singapore.

  1. I would love to live in Singapore! My two main reasons are the beautiful, near perfect weather and the low crime. I hate criminals!
