My Collections - A Little Bit of Everything

I am back again, this time with my collections. I don't collect just one type of thing because there is just too many things I like. Instead, I collect basically anything I find of value which can range from seashells and sand dollars to precious metals such as gold flakes and silver coins. I will show parts of my collections and give some information on what exactly they are so here it goes:

Some of my Collectables
As you can see in the picture, I collect a variety of things. Things like my marbles, the acorn person (I made it a few years ago), and that bouncy ball near the bottom of the picture might not be of value to most people, but I like it all. The bouncy ball I actually got from Geocaching (I will make a post for that eventually) otherwise it would probably not be up there. The marbles I bought at a garage sale, and I have more of them elsewhere. The feather I found when we were hiking, and the flat, long, greyish rock near the bouncy ball is actually petrified wood. You can also sort of see a sand dollar, but I have way more than just one. At a different garage sale I bought a bag of 100 sand dollars for just one dollar.

I think the yellow rock is dyed Howlite but I am not 100% sure yet if it is. Knowing that I got it at either a Zoo in Seattle or a rock store, it is probably is dyed Howlite. Howlite is normally a white stone with veining but it is often times dyed and sold as things like Turquoise (a valuable blue stone). The only way to figure out if it is Howlite or not is to test it, but I have only done that for some other ones like a small rock I thought was Turquoise but turned out to be dyed Howlite.

More of my Collectables
On the picture to the right, I have some gold flakes from Alaska, world coins including a silver one from Australia, Tiger's Eye shaped as a heart (which I got at a garage sale), a metal eagle, the top to an Egyptian-case, a glass plate with a fossil design on it, and homemade jewelry in the jewelry box. Now someone might say, Well this is not much in my opinion but I think otherwise. Of course, the things in these two pictures are not everything I have. Not to mention I have things like a shark tooth, fossils, more sand dollars, rocks, seashells, and other things in boxes still.

There is one more thing I would like to show... my one troy ounce silver coins. I have three of them, but I only keep two on display to show the back and front.

In the silver category, I also have the smaller silver coin in the picture above and a silver bracelet me and my dad found metal detecting. I also have some more gold flakes from Idaho but they are in a box somewhere along with some of my other collectables. To most people my collections might not be much, besides the metals maybe, but I still like them. Each thing I have on display has some sort of story, even if I cannot remember it exactly (like if I got that item when I was younger). My favorite things out of everything is my coins, the silver bracelet, my fossils and shark tooth, and my rocks which is nearly everything. I forgot to mention, I also make braided bracelets which I display if I am not wearing them. That is why you can see strings in some of the pictures. I really should get organized with my collections and display some more stuff, but for now this will have to work. Once I get everything fixed up I will take some new pictures to show. Until then I will be working on my next post: My artwork, so keep an eye out and be ready!
